View Outside My Window
For Baking Delights I did the real view of my vegetable garden from my front window. Now, I will ask you to bear with me a moment as I do an Anne Shirley and talk about the view from my imaginary window. :)
My window looks out across a meadow filled with flowers and lush grasses. There is a split rail fence enclosing it and a Dexter cow and her calf grazing contentedly. (Note:The picture above is NOT a Dexter) There are a couple of horses standing sleepily under a huge hickory tree and the deep buzzing of the bees makes a pleasant, relaxing sound through the open window. The scent of heirloom roses wafts in with the cool breeze and mixes with the strawberry rhubarb pie cooling on the sill.
As far as I can see it is meadow with only the tip of the chimney of the house on the next farm showing above the rolling terrain. I can tell by the clear azure sky that it will be a perfect day to slip away and go swimming in the pond before coming home to a dinner of fresh roasted vegetables from the garden.
I look through the window again and smell the fragrance of the roses blooming profusely against the white clapboards of the vintage farm house and I know that I am blessed beyond measure.

Hello Marye!!!
What a fun post - I looooove Anne Shirley! :)
That Rhubarb Pie looks delicious!!!! I have to say I have never made a rhubarb pie, but am now really tempted to try…. except, I have to be working to finish my magazine quilts due this month. But after that, I will do something fun!!! :)
Thanks for the lovely comments you have left on my quilts - I am encouraged!
Have a wonderful day!

Sometimes I close my eyes and think of what our Eternal home will be like and it sounds a lot like what you just wrote… including the pie. :)
