Green Mountain Coffee:Single Origin Sumatra

This is my favorite of the coffees that Green Mountain sent me.  It is a dark roast, and as I have said, I am partial to a dark roast.  The beans are very aromatic, you open the bag and your brain perks up..”coffee? did someone say coffee?”

Green Mountain Coffee…Ethiopian Yirgacheffe

The first coffee I brewed when the care package from Green Mountain came in was the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.   The Archer Farms Yirgacheffe I had tried last winter was a big favorite and i was delighted to see another version in the box.
This was a lighter roast than the Archer Farms, the beans were dryer […]

Mickey D’s Goes Green Down Under

Last week McDonalds announced that beginning early 2009 they are going to be using  environmentally certified coffee at its Australian and New Zealand locations.
The coffee is certified by the  Rainforest Alliance.  All coffee sold by the company (in Australia and New Zealand) will be certified by the group.

Java Pop..Coffee SODA?

I don’t often drink cokes anymore.
Now, when I say that you have to understand that cokes is a generic word for sweet, fizzy drinks.  Here in Texas you go to the Whataburger, and they will ask what kind of coke you want.  Dr Pepper? Root Beer? Cola? Sprite?

But that doesn’t mean I will shop there.
Wal-mart announced plans to carry Fair Trade coffee.  In fact, they are aiming to carry the cheapest fair trade coffee on the planet.  Wal-Mart said the Sam’s Choice coffee will be priced at $5.88 for 10- to 12-ounce bag.

Low Price, at What Cost?

I was reading through some things on the Internet and came across an intriguing article, entitled,Buying Green Masks Reality. I read the article with great interest, and finally, with more agreement than I had at first thought I would.
You see, just buying green is not going to fix problems. It is not going […]
