Refreshing Green Tea Fizz

by Marye on March 25th, 2008

 summer

I know it isn’t summer yet..but hey, it is in the 70s here all ready and summer can’t be far away, right?

Green tea makes a light, refreshing drink.  I prefer it in the summer to the winter..Winter and fall I much prefer a black based tea, especially chai.  Summer? Well now you need something cool, and fizzily refreshing.

This is all of that.  Serve it with a whole strawberry at the bottom of a frosted glass and I promise you that your friends will be nominating you for your own PBS cooking show….but if you get the gig, you have to have me on as a guest.

Green Tea Fizz

1 c green tea, preferably Adagio mango green tea

2 c pineapple juice

1 c natural gingerale, like Reed’s

4 whole, ripe strawberries

Mix the tea and the juice in a pitcher.  Stir well.

Get out 4 pre-frosted glasses.  Add 1 strawberry to each.

Pour 1/4 of the tea mixture in each glass, add gingerale to fill the glass.

Drink slowly while sitting on a veranda and reading F. Scott Fitzgerald.
