That is Sean. He is 9. He is one of my 8 favorite kids. And that is a classic Sean pose. He is a man of few words but a lot of determination.
You know, I realized tht while I CAN call it blog surfing on Baking Delights I can’t really call it that here because so much of the time it is news and items of interest from the web. So, in the interest of truth in advertising we are just going to call it surfing. Read More

This is based on a recipe from Epicurious. I love mango, it is such a sweet fresh flavor and it goes well will all kinds of tea. Green tea, Matcha powder, is THE in ingredient right now, and God forbid that someone would think I was not on the cutting edge here at Kettle and Cup. :)..And look..maybe you can get it to glow under a black light. This is my favorite of the coffees that Green Mountain sent me. It is a dark roast, and as I have said, I am partial to a dark roast. The beans are very aromatic, you open the bag and your brain perks up..”coffee? did someone say coffee?” Read More

Of the coffees that Green Mountain sent me, this one was my favorite.
It really surprised me because it is a lighter roast than I like but it is smooth and aromatic with a balanced acidity.
The primary flavor was nutty with Read More

So, you evolved from instant to Folgers Gourmet…and then to Millstone whole bean and then to artisian roast….and now, now you are thinking that maybe you would like to roast your own coffee. Great idea.
Coffee that is freshly roasted has a different flavor than coffee that is not. Even a couple of days can make a difference in the flavor. There are some awesome sources on the internet for green coffee beans, and unroasted beans stay fresh much longer than roasted.
Not only that but they are less expensive. That is a big plus, right? Read More

You know the rest right?
Remember I told you about Kopi Luwak which is basically coffee that travels through the entire digestive system of a wild cat and then is ..uh excreted and cleaned and roasted…Hopefully cleaned well.
Then there was the Monkey spit coffee. A bean that a type of monkey spits out after he eats the berry. Yum!
(O.k..I am adding this note to say I have NOT posted about those coffees but I did write and article on them you can read, Unusual Coffees . I really thought I had posted here but I can’t find it.)
Now there is the newest gourmet coffee… Innocently called, Avian Selected..Bird Processed. Read More

O.k..we have a great sunny day and alot of window shopping to do.
One of my favorite things about the Internet is the ability to window shop with out spending a dime, any time I want night or day. There are antique stores, auctions sites, and craft malls all available at my fingertips. YAY! No driving, no parking, no crowds!
I was at the thrift store yesterday. This has to be my favorite place to pick up props for my blog images. Read More

Summer is here. I keep thinking that I am going to free up some time to sit and enjoy life but the more I work to free up the time the more I have to do…if you are feeling the same way just take the time off and sip some iced tea on your porch. Relax. We all need to learn to live!

Where we tend to think of sandwiches now-a-days being monstrosities made of puffed air bread and chemically treated processed meats, they were a completely different item in the not so distant past.
Thinly sliced homemade bread with a layer of butter, topped with cream cheese and pecan, or cucumber and dill graced many a luncheon table. Back in the days before Biggie sized and Super sized meals tiny sandwiches in fancy shapes were termed “cunning” and “artistic”. The plates were arranged and the flavors were enjoyed. Read More
