Lipton Green Tea, Orange, Passionfruit & Jasmine

by Marye on April 9th, 2008

I don’t normally get Lipton but lately they have been trying some new things with their tea and some have been interesting.

I am not enough of a tea snob to care what company makes the tea, although I prefer Fair Trade/Organic, as long as it is good. So, while I drool over Adagio’s descriptions, I also know that many of us will pick up a box of bags once in awhile at the grocery store. Fair enough.
I saw the Lipton Green tea with orange, passion fruit, and jasmine and figured it was worth a try…
This tea tastes like watered down Tang, but only if you put alot of sugar in it.

So, my verdict is that unless you really like watered down Tang, don’t bother.

I agree with you on this. I have a box of this that needs to go into the trash. I wasn’t impressed with it at all.

April, rather than trashing it…make it double strength and use it as the liquid in a muffin recipe, or as a base for a punch. Water your acid loving plants with it.

To each his/her own I suppose, because I tried Lipton green tea with orange passionfruit and jasmine and is the only green tea that I like the taste. I steep it for about 3 mins and enjoy it hot with no sweetners. I find it has a very mild taste to it which is why I enjoy this tea very much as opposed to others.
