Hospital-i-Tea Blogathon…The-Sweet-and-Savory-of-Yummy
This week’s theme on the Hospital-i-tea Blogathon, from Gracious Hospitality is :
Share your favorite teatime recipe for sweets or savories. Tea sandwiches, scones, and dainty desserts all count in this category. Give credit to the originator of the recipe if possible. Post a picture if you can. This is sure to make everyone hungry for a delicious tea time treat!
I used to own a tea room, and I loved creating the tea menus. I loved creatively plating the tea items on the vintage three tiered plates we served them on. I loved choosing colors and flavors that would be pleasing to the eye and palate.
I am in a spring mood… For lo, the winter is past…. I am ready for warm weather and a fresh breeze blowing through the house! My menu reflects spring flavors and colors; lemon, pinks, rose, all of the delicate flavors that gently remind us that winter is over. Since i have blogged most of these I just linked to the various recipes on Kettle and Cup and Baking Delights.
Mushroom, Gorgonzola, and Oregeno Beggar’s Purses
Tiny Assorted Sandwiches:
- Cucumber on sour dough
- Orange marmalade and smoked chicken
- Pecan, olive and cream cheese on carrot bread
Grapes in clusters, red and green.
served with strawberries….
And to finish….
Truffles of course!
I hope you enjoyed our little tea… :)

Wow, what wonderful recipes. Each is a true work of art. Thank you so much for the time you spent creating and photographing them to share with us! I have several talents, but I don’t think anything I would ever make in the kitchen would ever turn out as lovely as these delights.
