Dunkin Donuts Coffee

by Marye on May 15th, 2008

Maple Pecan Donuts

When I was growing up on the East Coast, Dunkin Donuts was a weekly ritual for my dad and I…one of many. Back then you went to Dunkin Donuts for some awesome fried dough, and the coffee was incidental.

When we moved to Texas in 1971 Dunkin Donuts was not even a rumor. There was Winchells Donuts, and even Lone Star Donuts…but Dunkin? Nope. Have a chicken fried steak, y’all…and a bowl of grits. :)

Apparently in the past 30 some odd years SOMEONE at Dunkin Donuts learned how to make coffee because lately I have been hearing a lot about their coffee. I have even seen bags of it in the store. I have not gotten it because it is always ground, and I prefer whole bean. ::::::Flashing lights, sirens::::wheep….wheep….Warning Will Robinson, warning! Coffee Snob! Warning!!::::::::::::::

However…over at Thrifty Mommy you will find recipes for the Dunkin Donuts coffee drinks. Sadly, you will have to check out Baking Delights for the donuts to go with them. ;)

11 opinions for Dunkin Donuts Coffee

Thanks for the link love. :)

In my opinion, the bagged DD coffee in the stores is not as good as the bagged DD coffee from the restaurant. I can taste the difference and my brother says he can too. Unfortunately, I have become quite the coffee snob in the past year or so too. ;) DD does sell whole bean coffee though.

Hahaha… Marye! Hubby prefers whole beans too! :)

    Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the compliment on my quilt. I haven’t really thought of draping quilts over stair rails, but that’s a WONDERFUL idea! :)

    Have a wonderful weekend.

Ivory- I keep one over the stair rail on the upstairs landing. It blocks the view into my yougest 2 sons room as well as looking great! Thanks for stopping by

I’ve also refused to buy it because it comes only ground. I don’t live near a DD either. So, still haven’t tried their coffee.

You can buy it whole bean at some stores. The same goes for Starbucks. Some stores don’t carry the different varieties.

Thrifty Karen, I’ve checked several different stores locally and it’s always ground. I guess I could suggest whole beans to the gro manager, but I’m not even sure I’d like it.

Karen- I wonder fi it is if you live closer to where they actually have Dunkin Doughnuts?
Peggy-I think I feel the same way.

Possibly. Unfortunately, we don’t have a DD here. Too bad b/c their coffee is SO much better than Krispy Kreme. I think the coffee from their store is better than the bagged coffee though. Sometimes I do visit the DD where my parents live. Honestly, I think KK has better donuts and DD has better coffee. lol Too bad they’re not close together so that I can get one from each place. Yum!
